Radislav Krstic’s contempt trial has been scheduled to begin on 28 May 2013 and will take place in Courtroom I.
On 27 March 2013, the Karadzic Trial Chamber charged Radislav Krstic with contempt of court and issued an order in lieu of an indictment. Krstic was charged with contempt “for failing to comply with, or to show good cause why he could not comply with, a subpoena in which he was ordered to testify in the case of Radovan Karadzic.” Krstic has failed twice to testify in the Karadzic case and according to the Trial Chamber the medical reasons brought forward did not amount to good cause justifying the non-compliance with the issued subpoena.
The initial hearing in the case took place on 04 April 2013, where Krstic pleased not guilty.
Radislav Krstic is the former Commander of the Drina Corps of the VRS and has been sentenced to 35 years of imprisonment for aiding and abetting the genocide in Srebrenica in April 2004.
