From 4 to 6 May 2012 the ELENA course on Generalized Violence, Armed Conflict and the need for International Protection will take place in Bologna, Italy.
The course will address the international and regional protection framework in place for people fleeing generalized violence and armed conflict. It will examine the Protection granted under the ECHR, subsidiary protection regime under the Qualification Directive and will further explore the question in what ways the 1951 Refugee Convention and the Protocol can be applied. Furthermore important jurisprudence from the European Court of Human Rights as well as the Court of Justice of the European Union will be discussed.
