STL: Cassese – Indictments Likely by End of Year; Taylor Trial Moves to STL Courtroom

Judge Antonio Cassese, President of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon, has said in an interview with Lebanon’s The Daily Star that “Prosecutor Bellemare announced that he is likely to issue an indictment between and September and December of this year.”
Cassese did not have any information about the potential indictees or the details of Bellemare’s investigation. [...]

Pre-Trial Judge at STL orders the release of four detainees

Vice-President Appointed at Lebanon Tribunal

Lebanese judge Ralph Riachi has been appointed deputy president of the Special Tribunal for the Lebanon (STL).  The President of the Tribunal is Antonio Cassese, formerly a President of the ICTY. In other STL news, the Registrar, Robin Vincent has resigned. He will remain in his post until June while a new Registrar is recruited.
